  • Jada Lew

    Hello, my name is Jada Lew and I am a student at Lowell High School. I grew up in a very family oriented home in San Francisco, where we would cook weekly meals together. One recipe that followed me as I grew up were Vietnamese Spring Rolls, which I made with my bà ngoại (grandmother). I feel like this recipe can be shared with anyone, and bring both friends and families together.

  • Kahlan Bradley

    My name is Kahlan Bradley and I'm a student at George Washington High School. One of my favorite hobbies is cooking or baking. Some of the things I like to cook are pasta, spaghetti, omelets, pancakes, and chicken noodle soup. Things I like to bake are cookies, cakes, cupcakes, brownies, and cinnamon rolls. Reading is also one of my favorite hobbies, so I like to read cookbooks to find different recipes to cook and bake in my kitchen!

  • Nagi Li

    I’m Fenggui Li, but I prefer to be called Nagi. I’m the only child in my family. I like cooking, but I’m not really good at it. I don’t like doing sports. Instead, I prefer to stay at home. I also like eating. I usually have parties with my friends, and we’d like to have hot pot, sushi, cake, etc. Instead of getting food outside, we prefer to make it on our own. My dream is to become a millionaire and travel around the world.

    My name is Nathaniel. In my free time I like to play video games and sleep. Sometimes I cook lunch for my family and that is what really inspired me to join this cohort. This cohort has really inspired me to explore a career path of culinary.

    Hi my name is Oliver. I cook a variety of food from places and cultures. I make cake, pasta, pizza, tacos, sushi, salad and other foods. I joined the culinary and hospitality cohort because I want to learn more about the culinary arts.

    Hi I'm Logan and I am in the 8th grade. I live in San Francisco and I'm in the CSI culinary and hospitality cohort. In my free time I like doing things like baking and cooking. Things I like baking are cookies and bread.

    My name is Sonia and I am a female Asian student. I grew up watching my mom and grandma make potstickers occasionally and learned it step by step along with my 2 siblings. One day, I want to cook just like them too!

    Hey I’m Jonah/Hubert. The things I like to do are play games, sports, and of course, cooking. I am really competitive in everything and sometimes I'm really gullible at times. A lot of people told me I give off great energy, where I think I am a really chill and relatable guy. I like to better myself and succeed in many things.

    Nice to meet you! I’m Annie from the culinary & hospitality cohort. For my recipe I chose boba, an interesting and popular drink made of milk tea and tapioca pearls. I chose this as my recipe because I drink it often and I love boba. A fun fact about me is that I’ve made boba in a boba store before!

  • Judith Meza

    Hello my name is Judith Meza. I am 15 years old and I’m a junior in High School. I currently have pinkish dyed hair, but my natural hair color is dark brown. I am from Nicaragua, but I was born in California. I love to bake new and old things. I mostly enjoy baking for my family and friends because they give me great feedback on my work. I love to play soccer and volleyball whenever I have the time. My favorite food is spaghetti and meatballs from Olive Garden. I recently transferred from a private school to a public school.

  • Sienna Wong

    Hi my name is Sienna Wong, and I’m an incoming freshman. At home I love trying out new recipes when I’m bored such as sugar cookies, brownies, and drinks. In addition to cooking/baking, in my free time, I enjoy playing soccer with friends and my team, and hanging out with friends. My favorite food would be prime rib from House of Prime Rib, as my family and I have a tradition of going there each year to celebrate our birthdays.

  • Symona Elias

    My name is Symona Elias and I am a rising sophomore. One of my favorite things to do is bake and cook with my family and friends. After retiring I would like to own a bakery, and be the head chef. I feel covid sparked my interest in baking, because I was home a lot more than usual. I would like for my bakery to include a “giving back” aspect, for example every dozen cupcakes sold, one is given away. My favorite things to bake are either scones or cheesecake. The first time I made cheesecake was with my sister, so every time I remake it I think of her.

  • Wa kun

    Hello, My name is Wa kun, I’m from Burma (Myanmar). The recipe I chose to showcase is called Coconut noodle soup also known as Khao Soi, and is very popular in the country. This was the best childhood dish I've ever had and is the best for all occasions. My grandma would make this dish every time when winter rolls around since this food gives you warmth and comfort when you eat it.

    Hi, my name is Lily Xie and I’m a student at Balboa High School. In my freetime, I like to play video games, binge-watch shows, and bake. I can bake cakes, cookies, and bread, but they sometimes turn out bad! I also enjoy listening to all sorts of music. When I have absolutely nothing to do, I will sit in bed and watch mukbangs and youtube tutorials of different transitions for video editing to kill time!

    Hi, my name is Richard. A steak is overcooked just 10 degrees past perfection. I don’t cook for others. I cook for myself. Be my food flawless or revolting, the fault will lie with me. I cook because my desire to eat outweighs my fear of making mistakes. My drive to consume pushes me to do better and eat better. Cooking is an intrinsic part of human life. It’s natural to be addicted to it.

  • Sydnie Kwan

    My name is Sydnie Kwan. My family has been my biggest support and shelter growing up, and they taught me many things growing up within my culture. I’m Chinese American and I’m very proud to be born this way. While I may not be from China or even fluent in Cantonese, I can’t get enough of my traditions or family recipes. My grandma is my family's volunteer cook and her cooking is by far my favorite. From cooking rice to steaming fish, she can do it all. I decided to spend this summer break learning all that I can from her because I hope to one day make these meals for my own family too.

    I’m Fiona Lou, I am an upcoming sophomore. I’ve lived in San Francisco my whole life, which I’m very happy about, since I don’t see myself living anywhere else. My hobbies are working out, wrestling, crocheting, cooking, and trying new foods. In my free time, I like going out and eating with my friends and cooking with them.

  • Jeremy Jones Jr.

    Hey everyone, my name is Jeremy Jones Jr. My experience in cooking is pretty unique. My grandmother unfortunately died from cancer, and so I had to pick up those skills because I was over at her house a lot and certain times we would be by ourselves. So, my grandfather and uncles taught me how to cook, and from that day forward, I have been cooking. I’ve made so many different things, from waffles, to seasoned potatoes, to even Steak Sunrise waffles.
