Preparation! Activation! Placement!

In October 2018, San Francisco Mayor London N. Breed announced the launch of Opportunities for All (OFA), an initiative designed to address economic inequality by ensuring all young people can be a part of San Francisco’s thriving economy. Operated by the City and County of San Francisco, the initiative includes paid internships, mentorships, and pathways to employment for participants ages 13 to 24. OFA focuses on equitable access to these opportunities through connections, support, and resources for both job seekers and employers, and These experiences enable each participant to build relationships within various industries and gain job exposure to a field that they may not otherwise have had the access to. Since its inception, OFA has provided more than 5,000 paid internships to youth and young people.

Each summer, more than 2,000 high school interns participate in project-based work experiences.

COVID- 19 changed the dynamic of summer internships, quickly shifting Opportunities For All from an in-person placement to a virtual experience. OFA was able to provide more than 1,400 internships. Since the onset of COVID-19, OFA has provided more than 5,000 internship placements, both in person and virtual!
